Combining creativity and sustainability with an eye for details, our third graders worked with renowned Spanish-born jewelry designer Chus Burés to make pieces out of recycled materials brought from home.Based in New York, Chus Burés studied interior design in Barcelona before moving onto fashion, cinema and visual art. Burés is famous for designing the hairpin in film producer Pedro Almodóvar's "Matador", and has since then worked with other internationally acclaimed artists like Louise Bourgeois, as well as high-fashion brands like Loewe, Agnès b. and Akris. He designed the gold medal awarded by the Spanish Film Academy in 1994 and from 1996 has worked on contemporary design projects with the Thailand government. He now brings his artistic history to younger generations through his own brand, CHUS X CHUS.
