Molière and Commedia dell'Arte

With guests Claire and Arne Zaslove, 3rd grade students learned to impersonate various characters of the Commedia dell'Arte. Along with acting workshops revolving around gestures, postures and rhythm, the students created their own masks to go along with their character. The week will conclude in a short performance with scenes from Molière's "Le Malade Imaginaire".

Arne Zaslove is a physical theater consultant focused on the European physical theater tradition. He studied at Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris and served an apprenticeship in Commedia dell’Arte with Carlo Mazzone-Clementia, member of the Piccolo Teatro of Milan. Shauna Baird is an actor, director, producer and teacher. She has performed on stage and screen in the United Kingdom, Canada and France.
