Founded in 2015, the Cultural Center of the Lycée Français de New York was established to bring the richness of French and Francophone cultures into classrooms. Through evening events, it also brings arts and culture to the wider Francophile community in New York City.
Advancing the Lycée’s mission of shaping “citizens of culture and courage,” the Center invites artists, writers, scholars, and performers to engage directly with students. Through lectures, films, performances, festivals, and artist residencies, culture becomes lived and experienced, not simply studied.
Every year, the Cultural Center hosts over 35 public events, including seven professional performing arts shows and a Francophone cultural fair.

By celebrating French and Francophone contributions to the global cultural landscape, the Center fosters curiosity, dialogue, and openness among students and the broader community.
Grounded in the Lycée’s core values — solidarité-community, ténacité-commitment, esprit de découverte-open minds, and épanouissement-joy — the Cultural Center inspires students and visitors alike to explore ideas deeply, connect across cultures, and grow as creative and engaged global citizens.
