Olivier Esteves is a professor of British studies at Lille University. He works on the sociology and history of immigration and race relations. He is the author of
De l’invisibilité à l’islamophobie : les musulmans britanniques (1945-2010) (Presses de Sciences Po, 2011) and co-writer of
Les Politiques de la diversité : expériences anglaise et américaine (Presses de Sciences Po, 2010), and
La question raciale dans les séries américaines.
Students in ninth to 12th grade spent a morning in discussions about questions of race in the American TV series Oz, The Wire and Homeland.
