Première Scène | Theater Festival
Launched in 1999, the Lycée's annual competition of French theater welcomes over 400 students, ages 10-18, from schools across the U.S., Canada and France. This event is a yearly highlight for New York’s francophone community.

Première Scène is a unique opportunity for students who already speak French or are learning the language to master lines and delve into the meaning of words and phrases in French language and culture.
Each year, participants create their own work or present excerpted work in plays of five minutes or less with a minimal decor. It's an exciting challenge and opportunity to meet and learn from new friends in French.
Each, performances have one thing in coming: a theme that changes every year.
For the 2024 performance, we have chosen… "Human !?".

For this exceptional festival, French writer Marc Levy has accepted to be President of the Jury.
The teacher play (I Love New York) will be back on Friday, February 2, at 8 pm and Saturday, February 3, at 12 pm and 6 pm.

Rules
- Each scene should not exceed a duration of 5 minutes.
- Accessories/props must be able to fit in a suitcase.
- Lighting cannot be changed.
- If you submit a video, keep it simple - it is the acting that should be emphasized by the cinematographic production.
- Film landscape format (.mov in 1920 x 1080).
- No graphic titles.
- Possibility of using royalty-free music.
