En Français, Oui But Why?

En Français, Oui But Why? is a French and Francophone cultural fair organized by the Cultural Center of the Lycée français de New York. It brings together artists and professionals working to promote culture in French in all its diversity, in and around New York. The fair is open to all, and admission is free. It will take place at the Lycée français de New York, from 9:30 AM until 4:30.
Three panel discussions will be held on the following themes:
- How to get children to love reading
- The question of translation in the age of AI
- Choosing French as a writing language
During panel discussions, children may participate in creative workshops. Book signings with French-speaking authors will be offered throughout the day; the fair will close with Beaumarchais' Le Mariage de Figaro, performed in French by L'Atelier Théâtre.
Admission to the fair is free, as well as the workshops.
Only the panel discussions and the play are subject to a fee.
